BOGODA BRIDGE
Built in the 16th century during the Dambadeniya era, Bogoda Wooden Bridge is recognized as Sri Lanka’s oldest surviving covered wooden bridge. Constructed entirely of wood—including elaborate wooden nails—without a single iron nail, it spans the Gallanda Oya alongside the ancient Bogoda Raja Maha Viharaya. Located near Hali-Ela in the Badulla District, it is conveniently visited alongside highlights like Dunhinda Waterfall, Muthiyangana Temple, and Ella town.
